Welcome to the Blogger Interview Series on The Mistaken Man.
In this series, I invite people from the blogging sphere who have achieved the pinnacle of success in the Blogging Domain.
Today, I’ve invited Nikola Roza on my blog, & we’ll learn from him how as a new blogger he consistently makes upto $1000/Mo from his blog.
So, without any further ado, let’s proceed with the questions.
Q.1. Plz introduce yourself Nikola, What do you, what was your starting phase of blogging?
Hi Palash, thank you for inviting me to be a guest on your awesome blog.
My name is Nikola Roza, and I’m blogger and freelance writer from Serbia.
My blog is Nikolaroza.com
I started blogging in 2015, more by accident than out of any deliberate plan, fell in love with it on the spot and haven’t looked back since.
Q.2. How you came into this world of affiliate marketing & Blogging? What did you find in this career that you didn’t get from any other career option?
I become a blogger out of necessity. After my mother died in 2015, I was left broke and in a lot of debt.
And because I live in Serbia, which is one of the poorest countries in Europe, and where you can’t find a normal job, I had to turn to the internet.
I turned to the internet even before I knew what blogging was, what SEO was.
But I was lucky, really.
Blogging and freelance writing have through necessity become my work, but my work has turned into a raging passion and now I can’t imagine a life where I’m not a blogger.
It inspires me so much!
I also love the financial freedom that comes from having a modicum of blogging success.
Q.3. How many hours do you work a week? How does it feel to be working from home?
Working from home feels great.
Especially now during the COVID crisis.
Everyone’s freaking out and don’t know how to work from the office, while for me it’s normal.
Q.4. Technically speaking, if possible, can you give us a glimpse of your blogging & Affiliate Marketing Earnings? It’ll help people get a lot of newbies some motivation.
Sure, no problem.
I earn between $500-$1500 every month from my affiliate endeavors (my best earner is this page btw), while also making about $1000/ as a freelance writer.
As my affiliate income grows (for example, my free 60 day trial web hosting page is currently #5, about the crack position #3, and about to start making me money), I will stop freelancing and will go on as a full time affiliate marketer.
Also, Black Friday is approaching fast, and I’m hoping my HostGator Black Friday(https://nikolaroza.com/hostgator-black-friday-deal-discount/) page will make a killing come this November.
Q.5. How much time did it take, for your blog to generate sufficient earnings? How you got your first affiliate sale, & how it felt at that time?
It took me about a month to get my first ever affiliate earning, which was one ConvertKit sale that originated from my ConvertKit discount code guide here.
Immediately after that, in less than 24h, I had my second sale come from this post, which was a sort of a miracle as I wasn’t; even on the first page of Google with my Fusebox Podcast Player review.
But hey, were you there you wouldn’t have heard me complaining about having more money in my bank account:)
It felt great and like I was on the right path.
In my opinion, the path of monetization for bloggers is divided in 2 parts.
First part is where you still haven’t made money.
You’re full of doubt but you keep on going.
Second, the part where you’ve made money even if it’s just $1 and you now know that it is possible and furthermore, that it’s possible for YOU.
You’re a changed blogger after you’ve made your first $ online.
Q.6. What sources of traffic do you generate the most traffic from? What’s the best source of the traffic to focus on where we can generate a ton of targeted traffic with minimal efforts for newbies?
Most of my traffic comes from search engines, followed by social media, especially Twitter.
Search engine traffic is best, so that’s what I tend to focus on.
As for social media, 100% of traffic that I get is through Missinglettr and Missinglettr Curate, an AI-driven social media scheduler/curation tool that runs campaigns for me on autopilot.
I even generate new affiliate sales through Missinglettr, which is amazing to me.
For example, just yesterday someone came through this page on my site and bought an Unbounce Scale plan for $300, which means I earned $60 as my affiliate commission (20%).
Q.7. What’s your biggest failure till now in making money online?
I see everything in my blogging journey as part of the path, so in a way, it’s all success for me.
The biggest failure for me was that I didn’t learn about blogging sooner.
In 2015 was the first time I read the word “SEO” and I of course had no idea what it meant; which is a shame as I have always been into computers and technology.

Q.8. How do you manage your blogging schedule? Give us an idea of how you start your day & end your day?
Because I have a lot of client work, I prioritize it over my blog and I start every day by waking up at 6AM, doing my morning routine and then working for clients until 4PM (this also includes taking regular breaks, afternoon siesta and lunch break).
Q.9. What are your most favorite blogs you follow yourself to learn & grow?
I used to read a lot more.
Now, I’m working too much every day and don’t have too much spare time to read.
However, my favorite blogs which I do find the time to read almost every day are Kevinindig.com and HolisticSEO.com

Q.10. In how many ways, have you monetized your blog?
My blog serves as my writing portfolio, so I can find freelance writing gigs.
I also do affiliate marketing.
So, to answer your question, I monetize my blog in 2 ways.
Q.11. For what purpose/niche is your blog in, & where should we find it?
My blog is in the internet marketing and affiliate marketing niches.
I teach people how to succeed with SEO on a limited budget.
My blog is Nikolaroza.com, my social profiles are below and here’s my “hire me” page if you need quality freelancing services.
Thank you for having me Palash. It has been a pleasure and honor for sure.
