Mark Zuckerberg has long put employees on a ’30-day list’

The Facebook CEO said in a post on Thursday that he’ll take a leave of absence from the social network for about two months starting in early 2020.

Zuckerberg said he plans to use the time to focus on his young family and on his philanthropy.

"I’m going to take some time off to focus on my personal life and our new daughter," Zuckerberg said in the post.

Zuckerberg has been under intense scrutiny in recent months over Facebook’s handling of user data and its role in the spread of misinformation.

The leave comes as Facebook faces a number of challenges, including slowing growth, regulatory scrutiny and a potential antitrust investigation.

In his post, Zuckerberg said he plans to spend time with his wife, Priscilla Chan, and their two young daughters.

He also said he plans to work on his philanthropy, which includes the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative.
