The enduring legacy of Princess Diana

If Princess Diana were alive today, her title could be different.

At the time of her death in 1997, she was still technically Princess of Wales, a title she had held since her marriage to Prince Charles in 1981.

However, if she were alive today, she would likely be known as the Dowager Princess of Wales.

This is because her son, Prince William, would have inherited the title of Prince of Wales upon his father’s ascent to the throne.

Diana would then be considered the dowager, or widow, of the previous Prince of Wales.

Of course, all of this is hypothetical. Princess Diana tragically died in a car accident in Paris at the age of just 36.

Diana was only 36 when she died in a car accident, and many believe that she could have continued to be a beloved figurehead of the British monarchy if she had lived.

In the years since her death, Diana has become an international humanitarian icon, and her legacy continues to live on.

Queen Elizabeth II was much beloved for her apolitical marshmallow diplomacy.
