According to reports, United Airlines and Emirates are set to announce a codeshare agreement in the coming weeks.

As well as other destinations in the Middle East, Africa, and India. Emirates would do the same for United Airlines flights to Europe, Asia, and Australia.

Both airlines have declined to comment on the speculation, but a codeshare would make a lot of sense for both carriers.

It would give United Airlines access to new markets in the Middle East, Africa, and India, while Emirates would gain access to new markets in Europe, Asia, and Australia.

A codeshare agreement would also be a major blow to Delta Air Lines, which currently has a monopoly on flights between the United States and Dubai.
